This 304 stainless steel swivel nut and stem set is the professional standard for connecting flexible 1/4″ ID tubing to male flare (MFL) ports on keg couplers, gas regulators, and manifolds. The two-piece design allows the 1/4″ FFL nut to rotate independently of the 1/4″ hose barb, preventing hose kinking during installation and ensuring a high-torque, leak-proof seal. Technician’s Note: Flare-to-flare connections (FFL to MFL) are mechanical seals, but they always require a 1/4″ nylon flare washer (gasket) to be truly gas-tight. Never over-tighten the swivel nut with a heavy wrench; hand-tightening followed by a quarter-turn with a faucet wrench is sufficient. For the barb side, we recommend a 10.5mm or 11.3mm Oetiker clamp. If you are using 3/16″ ID “beer line,” the 1/4″ barb provides a very tight, high-security fit that is excellent for high-pressure carbonation setups.
