Briess American Pale Ale Malt is a specialty base malt kilned slightly longer than standard 2-row. At 3.5° Lovibond, it provides a richer golden color and a more pronounced malty, biscuit-like flavor profile while maintaining high enzymatic power. It is the ideal foundation for classic West Coast IPAs, Pale Ales, and Blonde Ales where you want a more complex malt backbone than pilsner malt can provide.
Brewery Recipe Tip: Use this as 100% of your base malt for any American style where you want to emphasize maltiness without using specialty caramel grains. It provides excellent extract efficiency and helps build a stable foam head due to its balanced protein content.
