LalBrew® Munich Wheat Beer Yeast is a premium strain specifically selected for producing authentic Bavarian-style wheat beers. This 11g sachet is ideal for 5-6 gallon batches. Munich Wheat is known for its ability to produce the classic ester and phenol profile of a German Hefeweizen, delivering balanced notes of banana and clove. It is a highly attenuative strain that remains in suspension, providing the iconic cloudy appearance while ensuring a crisp and refreshing finish.
Brewery Tip: To maximize the clove (phenolic) character, ferment at 64-66°F. To highlight more banana (ester) notes, aim for 70-72°F. This strain produces a vigorous fermentation with a large head; ensures your fermenter has at least 25% headspace to prevents blow-offs. Rehydrating in sterile water at 85°F for 15 minutes ensures the highest viable cell count for a vigorous start.
