Description
The Oetiker Ergonomic Side-Jaw Pincer is the professional solution for installing ear clamps in confined spaces where a standard straight-jaw tool cannot reach. Featuring a unique 90-degree side-jaw orientation, this tool allows for precise perpendicular clamp closure in tight draught towers, crowded syrup racks, and compact automotive engine bays. The high-leverage compound action design reduces the required input force by nearly 40%, while the 12% lighter overall construction provides superior balance for all-day field use.
- Tool Type: Compound Action Side-Jaw Pincer (90-Degree Orientation)
- Jaw Configuration: Side-mounted jaws for parallel-to-hose access in tight clearances
- Ergonomics: Redesigned handles with a reduced open hand span and comfort-molded grips
- Weight: 12% lighter than previous generations for reduced technician fatigue
- Durability: Reinforced jaw pivots and streamlined head to minimize debris buildup
- Application: Compatible with all Oetiker Ear Clamps, including Stepless and Dual-Ear series
- Construction: Forged industrial-grade steel with soft-touch power grips
Technician’s Note: The side-jaw pincer is a “life-saver” for under-counter manifolds and multi-faucet draft towers where five or six lines are bundled together. Unlike a straight pincer, which requires the clamp ear to be facing you, the side-jaw allows you to reach into the bundle and crimp the ear from the side. Always ensure the “ear” of the clamp is centered within the side-jaws before squeezing; because of the compound leverage, an off-center crimp can accidentally shear the clamp band rather than sealing it.
